Third grade begins Unit 4

The third grade did an assessment in French class last week, and ended the unit with a book project. Students made a book by drawing a picture of a school or other item in the correct color as dictated by the text of the book.
We move on to Unit 4 this week. We will be reviewing verbs and practice writing them. Below is a list of our vocabulary words. If parents have time to review these words and their spelling with their children, it would help with retention.

Vocabulary for third grade, Unit 4

Sauter – to jump, marcher – to walk, jouer au ballon - to play ball, manger - to eat

Danser – to dance, voler – to fly, jouer du saxophone - to play the saxophone

Nager – to swim, compter – to count, boire - to drink, dormir - to sleep

Faire du vélo - to ride a bike, faire du roller - to rollerskate

être – to be (je suis – I am, tu es – you are)

Qui suis – je? Who am I? Qu’est-ce que tu fais? - What are you doing?

Tu sautes avec moi? - Will you jump with me?

Je vole comme une perruche – I fly like a parrot.

Animal names from Unit 2, which we will be using as well:

La perruche – parrot, le tigre – tiger

L’ours – bear, le chien – dog

Le papillon – butterfly, le dauphin – dolphin

Le chat – cat, la tortue – turtle
