1st Grade

We start most days with the songs Sur le pont d'Avignon, Un Petit soldat, and checking in on the day of the week and the weather. Next we do an activity related to our current vocabulary. Friday we put all of our words on the floor and children made their own sentences by picking one card from the subject pile, one from the verb pile, and one from the place pile. Sometimes we added an object too. One of the children came up with "Julien mange le vélo au parc" (Julien is eating the bike at the park). Everyone really laughed! We are reviewing using a (has) and est (is), and will be learning le livre (book), le crayon (pencil), l'ordi (computer), dans (in) and le sac (bag) next.
